Desexing

What is desexing, also known as sterilization or more specifically castration for males or spays for females.

Desexing your pet is often considered to be part and parcel of responsible pet ownership. It also has health benefits for your animal, which any our vets will discuss with you.

Surgical desexing involves the removal of part of a pet’s reproductive system whilst under a general anaesthetic. Desexing of females (also known as spaying) involves removing the ovaries and uterus. Sometimes only the ovaries are removed. Desexing of males (also known as castration or neutering) involves the removal of both testicles.
